Gaze gets their information from EWG stands for Environmental Working Group. โThe Environmental Working Groupโs mission is to empower people to live healthier lives in a healthier environment. With breakthrough research and education, we drive consumer choice and civic action. We are a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment.โ EWG is one of the few organizations that have curated and compiled data from multiples sources to create a rating for cosmetic ingredients which is why weโve decided to use their score. The EWG score consists between 1-10 and falls in a category of low, medium, high risk. There are also some ingredients that are still in research which falls in a category of unknown. 1-2 : Low Risk 3-6: Medium Risk 7-10: High Risk Moreover, the amount of data based on each ingredients are indicated along with the data class. Data classes are divided according to: None, Limited, Fair, Good, Robust.
